This is why Swedes are awesome.

They built a 1:20 million scale model of the solar system across the country, with the sun modeled as the giant hockey stadium in stockholm.

Check it out!

Cat Trashing

Apparently some woman in London has some beef with cats. This security camera footage had no original sound, so we'll never know why. InfoMania added their take on the situation.

Justin X 8

From K.

Justin Bieber slowed down 8 times. Sounds like an epic trippy movie score. Kinda Indian sounding.

Swedish Idol Agnes and french sexy beats

Here is a fabulously gay new-disco tune to dance to. She's a star from Sweden's version of Idol. I bet her name is pronounced An-yes in Swedish. Video is pretty normal, but I enjoy the song.

And this is somebody I hadn't heard of before. Charlotte Gainsbourg. Apparently French. Très bien.

Charlotte Gainsbourg - Trick Pony
Charlotte Gainsbourg - Voyage

A cable car ride

Take a ride on a San Francisco cable car in 1906! This 7 minute video is a super long shot for the day, with a lovely soundtrack of Air. It's so funny how people just wander the roads. A time before strict motor laws...

Hubble deep field

You've probably seen this photo before, but here is a nice high-res version to dive into! Remember, this was what they saw when they pointed hubble at an empty patch of sky the size of a tennis ball as seen from 100 meters away.

NASA's Flickr Account

I don't know why it took me so long to find this. So many AWESOME pictures!! The above is from the 'blue marble' series that tried to capture the most hi-res pictures of Earth from high up by compiling many many satellite shots.

Digital Nation

PBS Frontline special about the current status of the digital age. It's all about how social networking, digital info, and constant access is changing the way humans think and behave. Very crazy and true.

Jan Svankmajer

This Czech surrealist artist from the 80s does some amazing stuff. This is a stop motion clay video that is crazy interesting.

He also did one of the strangest and yet most accurate depictions of Alice in Wonderland using a little girl, taxidermied animals, and meat.

The opening scene is here:

Girl and The Robot

Excellent new song from Royskopp featuring Robyn, the Swedish pop star. Have a listen/watch:

TIME

We've all thought about the fate of Earth and the Sun, and maybe started to think about the fate of galaxies, but what about the fate of matter, space, and time?

Turns out that matter might all degrade in 10E100 years. A googol. Ha.

Watch this video as it takes you through the many cycles of time. Very cool.

Oh Bjork

Classic Bjork video. All is full of love. Trippy robot make-out session. Oh my.

They did it!

They just had the opening ceremonies for the Burj Dubai, now called the Burj Khalifa. They had fireworks like crazy. Watch this video from Reuters of the ceremonies (remember that this building is 2 times the size of the empire state building. Like nearly 160 floors.

Harbin Ice Festival

Every winter, the city of Harbin in Northern China hosts an ice festival, where over 10,000 people gather to carve and stack ice into an enormous lit city. Amazing!
